Oregon Decoy and Wildfowl Guild Blog

Who or What Is ODWG

Oregon Decoy and Wildfowl Guild (ODWG) is a loosely organized group of Oregon based wood carvers who enjoy carving, painting, and showing decoys and other wildfowl.

ODWG tries to meet at least once a month to share techniques, learn from each other, and work on individual projects. Each member of the Guild is encouraged but not required to conduct meeting presentations on subjects of interest to the members. Past presentations include bird anatomy, air brushing techniques, creating patterns, texturing, painting/burning feathers, and many other topics.

The Guild has a library of decoy and wildfowl carving books and patterns. We also have a small cache of paints and tools available for member use.

Our members participate in National and local shows where some have achieved well deserved recognition. The Guild is primarily a group of carvers who enjoy their craft and who are happy to share their experience and skills.
